It seems that AT&T has been busy…
When I got on my Blackberry this morning to check on the news, the performance seemed a bit better than usual. Both CNN and SeekingAlpha seemed to load much faster.
I popped over to Engadget next and after reading a few recent posts, discovered one that suggests I am not alone in this experience. According to that post, AT&T has apparently “tweaked” the Edge network a bit - improving performance pretty significantly.
Clearly, this is a part of the run-up to launching the iPhone. I think it also shows that the launch of the iPhone is probably as important to AT&T as it is to Apple. - I’ve never heard of a carrier retooling their network for the rollout of a handset before. This is a good sign.
We shouldn’t forget that it wasn’t that long ago that people were saying Apple had lost its way and was irrelevant. Much like people are saying about AT&T today.
Innovation matters - perhaps now more than it ever did. It can transform companies, and redefine industries.
Welcome, to the new AT&T …
